Dear Licensees,
Here we are at the start of a new decade and we wish all our clients, licensees, partners and colleagues the very best for 2020 - and beyond!
The Decision Profile Team have been working hard to meet the new decade with a series of updates and upgrades to our product and service offering. We outlined the plans for a broad range of developments to the Decision Profile in a news bulletin at the end of 2019 and we are just about to launch the updates across the Decision Profile portals and websites. These will begin to go live on the 10th of February!
Below is a summary of what is about to arrive, with some explanation as to what you can expect. As ever, the team will be delivering ongoing client support and will be available to discuss your needs or answer any questions you might have.
Here are the main updates below and with a summary given for each point:
1. A change to the Lower Risk, Lower Luck, Lower Decisiveness Profile – the Follower Profile will now become the Producer Profile.
Previously carrying the label 'Follower'/'Implementer', this category of decision making has been further analysed and revised. This Profile will now have the new name 'Producer'.
The decision to change the label was taken for several reasons. We of course reviewed the Profile and the decision-making behaviours that this category identifies. However, most crucially, we listened to our clients (current and prospective) about the negative connotations that are implied by the previous labels. Following a period of analysis, 'Producer' arose as the most appropriate label to describe the decision-making preferences of that category. It focusses on the positive contributions that this Profile makes.
From a technical point of view for licensees, all reports support material will be upgraded to incorporate the Producer Profile. However, all Profiles that were previously labelled Follower will remain so in your portal. Should you want to upgrade previous Follower Profiles to Producer Profiles, all you will need to do is go to an individual client’s ID page and click on a second link found next to the original pdf report link. Clicking on the second pdf link will immediately generate a report containing the Producer terminology.
2. Language translations. The Decision Profile has been used in an incredible 71 countries around the world. As we continue to grow our global presence, we are aware of the need to look at localised, translated versions of the questionnaire. We are beginning with a Turkish version, as we have a Leadership Development Consultancy in Istanbul who is in need of a Turkish version to supply their clients. Further translations will follow, in line with client needs and market demand.
3. Licensee support materials. We are producing lots of new content to support our clients' use and application of the Decision Profile. These include:
Case Studies and Testimonials are in production that explain how, why and when the Decision Profile has been applied by the Decision Profile Team, our clients and also by our Business Psychology partners at Thompson Dunn Ltd. These case studies and testimonials will be available in the download section in your licensee portal, but will also be available on the Decision Profile website – www.decisionprofile.com – and will additionally be delivered straight to your in box via our media channels. The content relates to work that has been done all over the globe at the individual, group and organisational level. The Decision Profile has been the vehicle for some amazing work. We want to share that with you and inspire you to think of new ways to maximise the impact of YOUR work with the Decision Profile!
We are also in the process of producing 'Talking Profiles' podcasts that cover each Decision Profile in turn. We explore the decision-making behaviours that can be attributed to each Profile, the strengths of each Profile, the ‘blind spots’, the type of work that might best suit each Profile, the type of organisations and industries were certain Profiles predominate, and much more!
We are producing additional podcast that include interviews with current licensees and clients, who explain why, how and where they have used the Decision Profile - across different projects such as leadership development, coaching, recruitment, team dynamics, organisational design and cultural analysis.
Lastly, we are carrying out a large scale statistical analysis of the Decision Profile data. This is an ongoing ‘beast’ but we are boiling down some key stats that explain Profile distributions across different populations, industries and job functions. The data reveals some fascinating insights into emerging leadership styles, from a decision-making and Profile perspective.
4. Early stage development of new products. We are looking at the prospective development of two new products:
The first is a 180/360 DP that allows individuals to explore the differences between how they perceive their own decision making vs. how their decision making is perceived by others. There seems to be a real appetite from our clients for this concept, and our technical team (who do a huge amount of work for one of our former clients, DHL) are designing a first version for testing and we are looking at the best design for a feedback report.
The second product is an Organisational Design Module. This was first conceived back in 2011. It is a consultancy module that would allows us to work with our clients to use Decision Profile as a vehicle for designing teams, with the appropriate dynamics to meet organisational requirements. We are exploring how we can refine this into a module that could allow Decision Profile clients to access the organisational design module.
5. Revised licensee portal functionality.
We are updating the way in which our licensees can work with their own Decision Profile database, making it easier for them to manage and model their data, build Group Profiles, purchase credits and training, and renew or upgrade licensee agreements.
Depending on our clients’ needs, we are able to build bespoke portals that serve the licensee's organisational needs. For example, we can allow different levels of access to data and permit an at-a-glance analysis of particular groups of data (such as a particular country or organisational function's decision making culture).
We are very excited to release these upgrades and would love to hear your thoughts. Please get in touch with any questions or comments!
Best wishes,
The Decision Profile Team
