Lance Moir, Chairman

lanceLance is CFO of WIN plc, the leading enabler of mobile technology services. He was formerly at Cranfield School of Management where he was a Senior Lecturer in Finance and Accounting and where he advised large groups on strategy and financial management. He also taught actively on major management development programmes.

He has over 20 years international finance experience including the roles of Group Finance Director of First Choice Holidays plc, Director of Corporate Finance at Bass plc and Head of Corporate Finance and Planning at Storehouse plc. He is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, where he also served on the Council. He is a non-executive director of Gartmore Global Trust plc.

Pat Thompson, Managing Director

Pat ThompsonPat is the founder and Managing Director of Thompson Dunn.

An expert in the field of leadership assessment and development, she has over 25 years of international experience working with top level individuals, teams and organisations. Pat’s interests are in working with CEOs, organisational culture and creativity in business.

Pat’s business career began in recruitment working as a pioneering business psychologist for Michael Page and later Whitehead Mann in the audit and assessment of top teams. She created Thompson Dunn in 1990 with the desire to focus on the long-term needs of corporate clients. Her career began in education where she was a senior psychologist for the Inner London Education Authority.

Pat has an honours degree in Psychology and Certificate in Education from Manchester University. She holds an Msc in Developmental Psychology from London University and later studied for an Msc in Organisational Consulting from Ashridge Management College. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, Member of the Associations of Business and Educational Psychology.

Anna Pulleyn, Personal Assistant

Anna PulleynPA to Pat Thompson, Anna provides administrative support and is the first point of contact for diary appointments, event management and financial enquiries.

Anna has a broad range of secretarial and administrative experience in the hospitality and recruitment industries, working closely with the Human Resource Director in her previous role.

Anna has a BA in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex and has recently trained in Millinery at Kensington and Chelsea College.  She has a passion for creating bespoke hats and volunteers at St John’s Handicapped Children Trust, where she is involved in activity holidays for disabled children.

Dr Garry Hunt, Associate Consultant

GEH1Garry is a Businessman, Scientist, Broadcaster and Writer. He has more than 35 years of experience as an executive and non executive Director and an extensive contact network, having served on numerous national and international Boards, from start-ups and SMEs to plcs, in a wide range of sectors (IT, media, HR, search and selection, PR, conferences).

Gary is now Managing Partner of Elbury Enterprises and a visiting Professor at the School of Business and Law, Kingston University. He has served on many Boards worldwide as an Executive Director at PA, Logica Consultancy (CEO), ICL Group and Non executive Director with such PR Media companies as Fleishmann Hillard, Rowland Worldwide, Access Conferences International, as well as Sequent Computers, EDS, International Imaging Systems (USA), HW Group plc, Trustmarque plc, One Stop Click, Globebyte, SECPay and Ernst & Young (UK).

He is an experienced and frequent communicator, on television and radio, and at Universities and Boardrooms throughout the world, and has written 9 books. Originally an international scientist and member of NASA (JPL/CalTech), he holds 4 awards for his research activities. Garry has also held many appointments in leading UK and US Universities as a Professor of Atmospheric Physics. Garry is a Freeman of the City of London, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal in 2002.

Aly-Khan Jamal, Associate Consultant

Aly-KhanAly-Khan has been a strategy and management consultant since 1998 when he joined Andersen.  His career has spanned working in consulting firms large and small in several countries, before forming his own independent practice.  He has advised across a broad range of sectors, including retail, FMCG, business process outsourcing, media, telecoms, leisure and multinational NGOs.

Throughout, Aly-Khan has worked with a diverse set of leaders of organisations large and small, and helped them to drive superior performance from their teams and assets.

Aly-Khan now divides his time between corporate advisory, interim management and non-profits, with a particular interest in assisting social enterprises start-up and scale their activities.  He holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford, and an MA in Economics from McGill.

Andy Gannon, Associate Consultant

Andy Gannon, Associate ConsultantAn entrepreneur, mentor, communicator and leader, Andy enjoys a varied and fulfilling portfolio career that includes the directorships – both executive and non-executive – of various organisations, a burgeoning reputation for coaching & mentoring both established and upcoming business and sales leaders, and a rewarding mix of pro bono work.

Andy is also a talented change manager and organisational designer, and has led several breakthrough projects leading to the repositioning of entire businesses – and resulting in significant improvements in their growth and profitability. He has managed a number of international businesses and teams, both in his executive leadership roles during a distinguished 19-year career in sales, business and general management within Hewlett Packard, and since. Over the last decade alone, Andy has managed businesses ranging from 10 employees to thousands, and with turnovers from £1.5 million to $1.5 billion.

Having gained comprehensive experience in boardrooms, offices, and sites around the world, Andy is now passionate about sharing his learnings with the business leaders of the future. He has gained an excellent reputation as a qualified executive coach & mentor and applies his energies both in the commercial market sector  with activities in the charity and social context.

Dr.Bob Edenborough, Associate Consultant

BobBob has worked in the field of assessment and development for much of his 43 year career. A chartered psychologist and registered occupational psychologist, he has experience of a wide range of private, public sector and third sector organisations. These include financial services, retail, engineering and IT, together with central government departments and agencies, local authorities, educational institutions and charities.

The appointment and development of senior staff have been major points of focus and he has utilised a range of psychometric tools as well as assessment and development centres in this work.

Starting his career in the MOD, Bob has led teams of psychologists in a number of organisations: he was MD of the UK subsidiary of American consulting group SRI (now Gallup) and Director of Management Review and Assessment at KPMG. He now pursues a portfolio career, which includes being a director of Bradenlaw Ltd., a company which he co-founded in 2007 and which conducts reviews of recruitment and selection practices.

His first degree in psychology was gained at Hull University in the mid ‘60s and he was awarded his PhD in the psychology of decision making by Southampton University in 1973. He is an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society and a member of the Association of Business Psychologists. He has written four books covering various aspects of assessment.
